Our community in Gawler and the surrounding region is facing a growing mental health challenge—higher-than-average rates of mental illness across all age groups. Dr Naomi Rutten, a local GP specialising in mental health and behavioural disorders, and her husband have purchased the old Convent in Porter St, Gawler, with a heartfelt vision: to create a central hub for mental health practitioners including GPs, psychiatrists, paediatricians, psychologists, counsellors, play therapists and other therapeutic specialists.

While this space holds immense potential, the building needs extensive repairs and restoration—work the Dr Rutten family has been funding themselves.
